My position as Film Adviser is grounded in a lifetime of film-watching, professional engagement with film and film equipment and, in retirement, starting the Film Appreciation Group within South Bucks u3a, now 10 years old and going strong.
As a ‘sideline’ I volunteer as chair of the Beaconsfield Film Society at the National Film and TV School where films are curated for our twice-monthly screenings at the school’s superb cinema, attended by film enthusiasts from our large membership.
As u3a film adviser my role focusses on giving conveners the correct tools to start and/or grow a film group, dealing with the myriad details on the way to finding individual solutions enhancing our memberships enjoyment of their u3a film experience.
To be more specific my help encompases
- Key points for a suitable meetings location
- Specifics for the ideal indoor space
- Notes on Projection equipment
- Decisions to agree an outline for our target audience
- Program selection and promotion
- Involving other members
Pleased to help and share my knowledge.
